Qualification requirements

  1. Students must hold a foreign (non-Indian) passport (including persons with OCI or PIO cards).
  2. Educational Qualifications for postgraduate studies in:
    1. Engineering disciplines: 4-­year bachelor's degree (in science or engineering).
    2. Science disciplines: 3-year bachelors along with a 2-year master or a 4-year bachelors degree in science.
    3. The degree must be recognised by the Association of Indian Universities.
  3. Applicants will also have to qualify in the following examinations if they wish to apply for scholarships:
    1. Engineering or Science programs: GATE
    2. Design programs: CEED
  4. If English is not the first language or the medium of instruction (during secondary & higher education), qualification in any of the following two tests will be required:
    1. The Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL), administered by the Educational Testing Service (ETS), in which scores of at least 580 overall and 4.0 in the Test of Written English are required. The computer-based test requires scores of at least 240 overall and 4.0 in essay writing. The internet-based test requires scores of at least 95 overall with a minimum score of 20 in writing.
    2. The International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) test, administered by the British Council, in which scores of 6 or more in each section and an overall score of 6.5 are required.

      Test scores more than two years old will not be accepted for consideration.
  5. The application fee is USD 20 per institute (irrespective of the number of programs applied in each institute).
